The Lake Robert's General Store and Cabins located in the Gila Wilderness has been in business for over 50 years and is under new management! Our rustic, quaint cabins are available with a 2 night minimum for only $89 per night plus tax and other applicaple fees. We have three fire pits (***see note below), a fruit orchard where the deer come in the early morning and late evening hours, and lots of hiking trails in the immediate vicinity.
Our store provides staple grocery items, snacks, icecream, ice, live bait, gifts, firewood, beer, wine, and liquor and we are located just 5 minutes from Lake Roberts, 40 minutes from the Gila Hot Springs, and 45 minutes to the Gila Cliff Dwellings. Lake Roberts is stocked, the rivers are flowing, and the fish are biting! We have Rainbow Trout, Gila Trout, Large Mouth Bass, and Catfish! You can get your fishing license at NM Dept of Game and Fish online and if you plan to fish on the Gila River or Sapillo Creek, you will need a habitat stamp with your fishing license.
Campgrounds that are currently open include: Mesa Campground (water and electric hookups available), Upper End Campground (water and bathrooms available), and Sapillo Campground (group camping with bathrooms- no water or electric available), the Forks Campground (North on highway 15, near the Gila River), and the Upper and Lower Scorpion Campgrounds (near the Gila Cliff Dwellings).
